Ingredients
Scale
- 4 oz baking chocolate
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/3 cup cocoa powder
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with foil and spray with cooking spray.
- In a large microwave-safe bowl, combine baking chocolate and butter. Heat on HIGH for 2-3 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth. Stir in sugar.
- Add eggs, vanilla, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, ¾ teaspoon cayenne, salt, and 2 tablespoons cocoa. Mix well.
- Carefully stir in flour and then add mini chocolate chips.
- Spread the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 20-25 minutes. A toothpick should come out with a few crumbs attached. Cool completely before slicing into squares.
- For the topping, whisk together powdered sugar, ¼ teaspoon cocoa, ¼ teaspoon cinnamon, and a pinch of cayenne. Sprinkle over the sliced brownies.
Notes
Using a mix of dark and semi-sweet chocolate can enhance the flavor.
Let the brownies cool completely for better cutting.
Feel free to adjust the cayenne for your preferred spice level.
