Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 4 oz dark chocolate
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup sourdough discard
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup plain flour
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180C/160C Fan and line a 9″ square baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the unsalted butter and dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl over a pan of boiling water or in the microwave for 1-2 minutes until smooth. Allow it to cool to room temperature.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine the eggs, sugar, and sourdough discard, mixing until well combined.
  4. Pour the cooled chocolate mixture over the egg mixture and carefully fold them together.
  5. Sift the cocoa powder and plain flour over the chocolate mixture and fold together until combined.
  6. Add in the chocolate chips and mix. Pour the batter into the prepared tin and bake for 25-30 minutes.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use high-quality dark chocolate.
Allowing the brownies to chill in the fridge enhances their texture and flavor.
