  • Prep Time N/A
  • Cook Time 10-12 minutes
  • Yield 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1 1/2 cups (285g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) pure vanilla extract
  • 3 ½ cups (420g) all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon (2g) baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon (2g) cream of tartar
  • ¼ teaspoon (1.2g) salt
  • ½ cup sprinkles
  • Gel colors (Pink, Royal Blue, and Violet)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350° F and prepare a large cookie sheet by lining it with parchment or a silicone baking mat.
  2. Cream the butter and granulated sugar together on medium speed until smooth. Incorporate the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until the eggs are well blended.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients, then gradually add them to the butter mixture, beating on medium-low speed until the dough begins to form. Finally, mix in the sprinkles.
  4. Transform the dough into 4 equal balls, leaving one uncolored and dyeing the other three with your chosen gel colors. Use a spatula or your hands to incorporate the colors into each piece.
  5. Gather all four colors into a large bowl and lightly mix to achieve a tie-dye effect without overmixing, which can create muddy colors.
  6. Using a medium or large cookie scoop, portion out the dough, rolling each ball in granulated sugar or additional sprinkles before placing them around 2 inches apart on the baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes at 350° F. Allow the cookies to cool on the sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For a vibrant look, use a variety of gel colors and be careful not to overmix for the best tie-dye effect.
These cookies can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week, keeping them fresh and chewy.
Experiment with different sprinkles for a unique twist on the classic cookie flavor.
